Day 9: Induction

I'm feeling a little better from the keto flu as they call it. I'm not taking any medicine, as I don't want to have any hidden ingredients that are in them. I'm sure the cough syrup is full of sugar if not sugar-free. I've been drinking lots of water to stay hydrated, it's helping a lot.

Meals:
Breakfast – Scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon
Lunch – Cheeseburger and lettuce
Dinner – Broccoli and lemon pepper rotisserie chicken

Day 8: Induction

I think the Keto flu has kicked in. I have a stuffy nose and some chest congestion. I’m a little fatigued also. Nevertheless I plan to stay the course. 

Meals:
Breakfast - Scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage
Lunch – Cheeseburger and pickles
Snack – Roasted pecans
Dinner - None

Day 7: Induction

I decided to weigh this morning because I got a new scale. It's more sturdy and larger than the old one. My weight was 233.4 lbs, which is .6 lbs more than yesterday. I'll take that, being that I wanted a clean slate with my start weight using the new scale. I feel terrific, more mental than anything. I'm doing it!

Meals:
Breakfast - Scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon
Lunch - Chef salad with Balsamic dressing
Dinner - Chicken with broccoli and cheese

Day 6: Induction

I'm feeling much better this morning and have a bit more energy. I decided to hop on the scale being that I'm halfway through Induction. My current weight is 232.8 lbs. I'm down 6.4 lbs as of now. I feel lighter and my pants that I'm wearing today are a tad bit looser. I'll take any accomplishment, as long as I'm headed in the right direction. I plan to incorporate some evening walks next week for 30 minutes.

Breakfast - Scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage
Lunch - Salad with shrimp, pecans, and Balsamic dressing
Dinner - Steak and spinach

Day 5: Induction

I felt very fatigue today. I went to church service and afterwards, I went home to rest. I didn't have breakfast because I was fasting with the family for spiritual reasons and I missed my goddaughter's baby shower because I didn't have the strength to make it there and participate. I know as the days goes by, I will feel better and have more energy. Better health, clarity of mind and weight loss is worth it.  

Meals:
Breakfast - None
Lunch: Scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage
Dinner: Spinach and lemon pepper rotisserie chicken

Day 4: Induction

We had a great time at The Hollywood Tri-Rail Day. We got some walking in and had lunch at Hooters. I had a wing and enjoyed a nice buffalo salad with water and lemon. I stayed the course and I'm proud. 

Meals:
Breakfast - Eggs with sausage
Lunch: Buffalo salad with chicken and blue cheese dressing
Dinner: Lemon pepper wings and ranch dip

Day 3: Induction

Another day for the books. A little fatigue today, but I will keep pressing on.

Dinner - Lemon pepper wings, celery sticks and blue cheese

Day 2: Induction

So excited that I made it through day 1. This has been such a challenge for me, and to sit here today and have moved on another day of Keto eating is such an accomplishment.

Breakfast - Scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon
Lunch - Chef salad with Balsamic dressing
Dinner - Sauteed shrimp with broccoli and cheese with a double cheeseburger

Day 1: Induction

It has taken me months to get my act together and get back to Keto eating. I've attempted many times, but today I made up my mind to begin again and it feels great. I'm looking forward to the many benefits this lifestyle bring. I can still eat good luscious foods, and lose weight at the same time. I have a few clothing that I plan to use for weight loss measuring. I weighed this morning, start weight 239.2 lbs.

The Beginning of Something New

After gaining more weight, I have finally decided to start low carb eating for all the health and vanity benefits it has to offer. I'm looking forward to clearer skin, more energy and able to wear all my old clothing and clothing I have purchased and never been able to get into. When I eat healthy, I feel so much better; mind body and soul. I looked in the mirror this morning and wasn't pleased at all with what I saw. I'm at my heaviest and I feel so bloated and out of shape. I know once I get started, I'll begin to feel better overall and about myself again. To be able to get dressed and smile back at the person in mirror is a few months away. That's what I keep telling myself every time I fall off track. It's a journey and you are allowed to make mistakes, just hold yourself accountable and keep on keeping on. I plan to start exercising again as well. As the time draws closer, I am mentally getting excited about all the benefits I will receive and how good my body will begin to feel after a few weeks. This has been a long time coming. I have wasted so much time not fulfilling the life I should be living, by allowing my weight to get so out of control. I'm excited about this journey. My start date is Wednesday 2/21/2024.
